Commercial Portable AC FAQs
How do I figure out what size portable AC fits my Tampa Bay business?
Two factors drive Tampa Bay sizing: the square footage you need to cool and the coastal heat load the space carries. Coastal humidity and a long summer mean equipment sees continuous load. Match starts with square footage: Mini Cooler covers 250 sq ft 1-Ton handles 400 sq ft 1.5-Ton covers 600 sq ft of commercial space 1.75-Ton water-cooled handles 750 sq ft for spaces without exhaust venting 5-Ton multi-unit solution scales to 2,000 sq ft. Then adjust for heat sources inside (servers, kitchen lines, production equipment). All that said, the fastest way to match the right unit to your needs is a quick call with our team.
Which Tampa Bay businesses use commercial portable AC rentals?
Tampa Bay’s commercial portable AC rentals serve a healthcare-heavy and hospitality-anchored market. Hospitals and clinics call to maintain patient comfort during HVAC service. Hotels and beachfront resorts call when guest comfort fails during peak season. Restaurants call to back up kitchen line cooling. Office buildings in Westshore and downtown call when central systems can’t keep up with summer humidity load. We also work regularly with manufacturing operations, distribution warehouses, retail spaces, and event venues across Hillsborough and Pinellas counties.
How fast can a unit get to my Tampa Bay business?
Tampa Bay splits across the water into Tampa, St. Petersburg, and Clearwater, which factors into delivery timing. Our target is 90 minutes to most commercial sites, with storm-season dispatch adjusted to current road conditions.
How do rentals work during hurricane season?
During hurricane season (between June and November), our 24/7 service operates as usual. We coordinate dispatch based on road and access conditions, and the 90-minute window applies as long as the metro is operating. If you’re planning ahead for an approaching storm, call us early to discuss timing. Rentals are open-ended, so you can keep a unit through the entire storm recovery window without committing to a specific return date.
How do you handle hospital and clinic deliveries?
Tampa Bay has a large healthcare presence, and our healthcare deliveries follow the standard 90-minute window. All of our technicians are background-checked, and we coordinate access through your facility’s security or service desk on arrival. For interior exam rooms, server rooms, or pharmacy spaces without external exhaust access, our 1.75-Ton water-cooled unit is typically the right call. It cools through a water loop and doesn’t need window venting.
Can a rental cover us through a Tampa HVAC repair?
Yes. A portable rental covers your Tampa Bay business while your central HVAC is offline for repair, replacement, or storm-related recovery work. Rentals start at $35/day for the Mini Cooler. The term is open-ended, so you keep the unit through the actual recovery timeline. When the central system comes back, we collect the unit at your convenience.
