Frequently Asked Questions
My AC broke and it’s 100° outside. What can I do right now?
Don’t sweat it, literally. A portable AC can be at your Raleigh door the same day, usually within 90 minutes, while a full repair might be days away. We deliver it, set it up, and pick it up when you’re done, so all you do is camp out in a cool room and relax.
How much does it cost to rent a portable AC unit?
Way less than a hotel week or a brand-new system. The Mini Cooler is $35 a day for spaces up to 250 square feet, bigger units for living rooms and open areas run $65 a day and up, and you get an honest quote with no hidden fees before we head your way. Most Raleigh homes with a dead central system need one to three units, depending on the floor plan.
My HVAC tech says the part is on backorder. What do I do in the meantime?
This is one of the most common reasons Raleigh folks call us. Parts can take days or even weeks to show up, and nobody wants to sweat out a Triangle summer waiting on a box to arrive. A rental keeps the family comfortable for a fraction of a hotel bill, with no pressure on the repair timeline. Rates start at $35 a day, and you can extend as long as you need.
Can a portable AC unit cool my whole house?
Not the whole house, and it doesn’t have to. The trick is a cool zone: close off a bedroom or two, run a unit in each, and keep everyone comfortable while the big repair happens. Got a roomy place out in Cary or Apex? We’ll set up a few units in the right spots and handle delivery, setup, and pickup, so you’re not wrestling equipment around the house.
